Pia Dorer is a Filmmaker and experienced PR professional who co-founded the boutique communications agency Orange Identity. She is also the mother to five precious babies, two of whom are with her today.
After losing her first son Sam in 2009 to a cord accident during her second trimester Pia began using her skills to donate time each year to pregnancy and infant loss advocacy work around the world. After two further loses during 2012 she began working with Bears of Hope in Australia to raise awareness through film and print campaigns to help Break the Silence on this issue. Passionate about story telling and filmmaking Pia used her production skills to produce and edit the globally released documentary short film It’s Not All Black and White – A Journey Through Pregnancy & Infant Loss for Bears of Hope in 2013. Pia is also a contributor to the Australian based parenting site The Bub Hub.
In 2014 Stephanie and Pia teamed up to create The Sacred Project as a way to unite bereaved mothers around the world and educate those who have not experienced child loss but would like to know how to support others. The short film will honor and celebrate the sacred bond shared between ALL mothers and their babies. Pia lives with her husband and two children in Avalon Beach, Sydney Australia and regularly returns to the USA, where she lived for 12 years, for both work and pleasure.
